Position: Systems Administrator Position Type: Full-time Location: London, West-End Salary: Negotiable Job Description The Systems Administrator will play a key role in a skilled technical team that is responsible for the successful implementation and ongoing development of web projects for clients. Key responsibilities: - Manage and support production systems and networks for the customer platform:
- To support existing customers and solve technical issues whenever they arise.
- Administration of production Windows 2003 servers, UNIX (Linux & Solaris) servers, SAN appliances, networking devices and switches.
- Administration of support services such as DNS, SMTP, RDBMS, Apache.
- Adopt established processes for a consistent and high quality implementation.
- Aptitude for automating tasks.
- Out-of-hours on-call support may be required.
- Responsibility might be extended to assist the development team when required.
Experience/ Soft Skills Required - A relevant BSc or MSc.
- Demonstrates thoroughness and attention to detail.
- Can self-manage and is organised.
- Communication skills - ability to communicate with customers and third-parties.

Essential Technical Skills - Windows Server 2003 administration
- Linux and/or Solaris administration experience
- Scripting (Shell, Perl or Python)
- Experience building and installing open source software
- Server hardware installation and support experience
- Experience with managing public-facing production servers
Desirable - Web server administration (Apache, IIS)
- Experience with scaling web farms
- DNS management (bind preferred)
- MTA/Postfix administration
- Networking, TCP/IP, routers/switches, Cisco IOS
- Subversion repository management
- RDBMS administration (MS SQL & PostgreSQL preferred)
- Experience with writing tools and scripts to automate tasks
- Programming skills or background (Python, Perl, C, C++)
- ISP background or similar environment
