Behavioural Merchandising: Behavioural merchandising is the process of using customer behaviour to place, promote and display products in order to maximize retail sales revenue. Behavioural Re-targeting: Behavioural Re-targeting is a technique used by online publishers, retailers and advertisers to re-target users who leave their websites without making a purchase. >> read more.

Behavioural Targeting:  Behavioural targeting uses information collected on an individual's web-browsing behavior, such as the pages they have visited or the searches they have made, to select the most relevant information to display to that individual. >> read more.

Cart Abandonment: Cart abandonment is when a visitor initiates your checkout process but leaves before completing their purchase. For online businesses with their main goal of selling products, shopping cart abandonment can mean the difference between profitability and loss. See Behavioural Re-targeting.

Collective Intelligence: Collective intelligence is a shared intelligence that emerges from the unconnected collaboration of users on a website.

Conversion Rate Increase: The increased percentage of on-site visitors who make an online purchase.

Cross-sell: The strategy of promoting higher-value products to customers based on their past purchase behaviour. >> read more.

eCommerce: Is the buying and selling of goods and services on the Internet.

Email Recommendations: Personalised emails to users containing relevant product recommendation based on their past user behaviour. >> read more.

e-tailing: A term used for online retail selling.

Facets: Facets allow users to browse, search and refine their choices using options such as: Category, Brand, Price-range, Colour, Size, Manufacturer etc. Facets are dynamically created from the product data-set.

Faceted Navigation: See Intelligent Navigation.

Full-text search engine: A search engine that examines all of the words on-site as it tries to match search words supplied by the user.

Guided Navigation:  A framework applied to each web-page, displaying the relevant refinement options ("Facets") available to the user and allowing them to drill-down using those refinement options. See Intelligent Navigation.

Internet Retailer:  An Internet retailer, is a business that sells goods and services online via an eCommerce site.

Online Shopping: The act of purchasing products or services over the Internet.

Merchandising: Merchandising is any practice which contributes to the sale of products to a retail consumer. See Online Merchandising Solutions.

Merchandising platform: The software framework that enables online merchandising. >> read more.

Multi-channel retailing: Multi-channel retailing enables consumers to shop in a number of different modes; so for example they might browse the goods in one channel, order them in another and actually pickt them up in another channel. Personalisation: Identifying the customer by unique ID, cookie or behavior and customizing the experience for them.

Auto-Complete: A customised predictive search tool, also known as, 'type ahead' capability, suggesting relevant search terms as the user starts to type their query. >> read more.
